MEC Boxcar
It may look a little beaten up, but this boxcar is a reminder of the once proud Maine Central Railroad (otherwise known as “The Pine Tree Route”). This car carried goods all over the nation displaying the name and logo of a true New England railroad.
Ayer Center
The center of Ayer, Massachusetts, wast the home at one time to the junction of four railroads. Now it sees about 10 daily commuter trains heading from Boston to Fitchburg, and it still often sees the freight of the Guilford Rail System, which carries on in the footsteps of the once proud Boston & Maine Railroad.
