Annie’s Irish Soda Bread
Irish soda bread is arguably one of the most popular quick breads ever. The secret to mastering this free-form loaf is to not overwork the dough. Studded with raisins and caraway seeds, all it needs for an accompaniment is a pat of butter.
Mother’s Secret Banana Bread
The mashed bananas in this old-fashioned banana bread gives it a delicate texture, making it great for entertaining as well as everyday eating. Add chopped nuts, chopped dates, or chocolate chips if you wish.

Lemon Blueberry Zucchini Bread
A popular end-of-summer quick bread recipe, this loaf makes excellent use of excess garden zucchini, pairing it with sweet blueberry and tart lemon.
Apple-Ginger Quick Bread
Offering a change of pace in flavor, this hearty apple quick bread is especially attractive if baked in mini Bundt pans — and it freezes well, too.

Auntie Dot’s Fruited Tea Bread
We don’t call this quick bread a fruitcake, because it’s really more of a spiced sour cream cake with candied fruit. Pour a little brandy over it when it’s still warm for an extra-special holiday treat.
Harborside House Pumpkin Bread
The sweet tang of dried cranberries combines with the spicy richness of pumpkin to create this delightful pumpkin bread.

Cheddar-Scallion Beer Bread
We love a savory quick bread, too. The beer here adds flavor and helps the bread rise, making this one of the easiest loaves you’ll ever prepare: no kneading, no rising time. Cheddar cheese and fresh scallions give a little extra kick.
Cheddar Cheese–Pepper Bread
Plain yogurt lends a pleasant tang to this cheesy quick bread. Serve with a bowl of soup or chili.

i’ve been making a version of “brown bread” since I found this recipe in Yankee Magazine dated July 81! Made 80 loaves for Christmas gifts last year and over the intervening years, but use it with beans and hot dogs and find it especially good in a good old New England Clambake or Clamboil. As a child we often had B & M Beans, Brown Bread, and hot dogs on a Saturday – still do! Not always able to find the B & M Brownbread in my market hence the Olive’s Hobo Bread recipe. Was surprised this recipe wasn’t included in your favorite list!
Do you have Olives Hobo Bread recipe.Thankyou
Love your recipes!
Red Lion Inn Pumpkin Bread is the BEST! It was featured in a “Good Housekeeping”, I used the recipe with my 7th & 8th grade cooking classes for years. I don’t always make loaf breads with the recipe, choosing to do mini-muffins. Fall hasn’t officially started until a double batch has been consumed. It’s the first quickbread to disappear at Thanksgiving. Even my picky grandchildren have been known to ask “Does Memere have any of those muffins?”

PLEASE PLEASE provide a regular recipe card print option on your recipes! I don’t need a full 8.5 x 11″ picture of the bread/cake/cookies and a 5 pg print of all the comments. Even ìf I remember to only print the actual recipe it’s still 3 to 3 pages. I would just LOVE the option please!
agreed!
